Rachel D. Epperson Obituary (2013)

Rachel D. Epperson age 90 of Lincoln died December 6, 2013 at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM Friday December 13, 2013 at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair, with visitation beginning one hour prior to service. Interment will be the Tekamah Cemetery in Tekamah, Nebraska at 1:00PM Rachel, was born to Howard and Tillie (Schmidt) Feelhaver on November 10, 1923 in Tekamah, Nebraska. She was raised in Tekamah and graduated from Tekamah High School in 1941. Rachel married Arlo Worley Epperson on June 16, 1944 in Tekamah, Nebraska and farmed nearby for five years. They gave up farming and moved to Omaha, where Arlo began his sales career. To follow his pursuits they lived in Iowa, Texas and Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Juliann, Carol Jean, and Randall Worley. Arlo preceded her in death on April 10, 1991. After their children were grown Arlo and Rachel moved outside of Blair. Rachel enjoyed raising feeder calves, boarding horses, and planting numerous different species of trees and shrubs. She collected antiques and operated an antique booth for several years. Rachel is survived by her three children: Juliann (Art) Annin, Carol (Brian) Mahan, and Randall (Brenda) Epperson; special companion Carl Watts, six grandchildren: Scott Annin, Matt (Christine) Annin, Rachel (James Gregory) Mahan, Emily (Caleb) Mahan-Riggs, Alex and Andrew Epperson; and two great grandchildren: Clara Rachel Riggs and Kaitlyn Grace Annin. Memorials may be directed to the Burt County Museum.
