Alice M. Madsen Obituary (2015)

Funeral services for Alice M. Madsen age 90 of Blair will be held Saturday February 7, at 2:00PMat First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will follow services in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday February 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at First Lutheran Church. Alice died February 4, 2015 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair surrounded by her loving family and friends. Alice was born to Niel and Selma Thompson at Herman, Nebraska on November 9, 1924. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church and attended regularly. She grew up in Blair, graduated from Blair High School and attended Dana College. She was united in marriage to Albert "Bud" Madsen at First Lutheran Church on October 23, 1948. Except for the 6 years they lived in Redlands, California, the couple lived their entire lives in Blair. She spent her life devoted to being a wife and mother. Her hobbies were, sewing, embroidery and reading. Her family and friends were precious to her and was happiest in her kitchen baking for them. She and Albert enjoyed many years of traveling together. Alice is survived by her sons; Steve of Bellevue, Douglas and wife Sue of Blair, daughter Tia Weis of Spokane, WA, daughter in law Shona Madsen, sisters; Nila Matzen and Gloria Jensen of Blair, 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert "Bud" in 2008, son Mark in 2011, brothers; Elton "E.T.", Lowell, and Harley, and sister Mildred.
